Building Cyber Castles: Sequentur Sparks Cybersecurity Curiosity at STEMapalooza
Sequentur was proud to sponsor the 13th Annual Girl Scouts STEMapaloozaa day of hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math exploration at Florida Polytechnic University. With more than 1,800 attendees, STEMapalooza is the regions largest STEM event for girls, friends, and familiesand Sequentur was honored to bring cybersecurity concepts to life through interactive, kid-friendly activities.
Your support creates opportunities that ignite curiosity, foster confidence, and expand the future for young women across our region.

Cybersecurity Fun Patch: Defending the Digital Castle
At our booth, we invited young Girl Scouts to design and defend their very own castles against imaginary cyber threats. From fire-breathing dragons and poisonous ants to sneaky soldiers, the girls brainstormed the kinds of attacks their castles might faceand then came up with creative ways to protect them.

Their solutions were brilliant: moats filled with crocodiles, force field domes, spiky walls, ant-eaters to fight off ants, and secret tunnels to outsmart invaders. As they drew these layers of protection onto their castles, we helped connect the dots to real-world cybersecurity:
Just like castles need multiple defenses, our data and devices are safest when we use multiple layers of securitythings like strong passwords, firewalls, and two-factor authentication.
This hands-on activity, adapted from the Girl Scout Cybersecurity Fun Patch, helped make abstract cybersecurity ideas fun, tangible, and memorable.
Building Better Passwords: Empowering the Next Generation of Digital Citizens
For older Girl Scouts earning their Cadette Cybersecurity Badge, we stepped up the challenge. Together, we explored what makes a password weak (pet names, birthdays, password123) versus what makes it strong (random passphrases, unique characters, length).
The girls shared some of the funniest (and scariest) bad passwords theyd seenand then created stronger ones using the four random words method and symbol substitutions. We also introduced them to password managers: tools that let you remember one strong password instead of dozens of weak ones.
This simple but powerful skill empowers young digital citizens to protect their accounts as they grow into more complex online liveswhether gaming, researching, or social networking.

Why It Matters: Tech with Heart, Cybersecurity with Care
At Sequentur, we believe cybersecurity shouldnt feel intimidating or out of reach. Whether were helping small businesses secure their networks or inspiring a young girl to take her first step toward a STEM career, our mission is the same: make technology approachable, human, and empowering.
Sponsoring STEMapalooza gave us a chance to extend this mission beyond our client base and into the communitysharing what we know, sparking curiosity, and showing girls they have a place in tech.
